"I have many beautiful flowers, but the children are the most beautiful flowers of all." The Selfish Giant, Oscar Wilde.

We are first and foremost a residential outdoor education centre offering a service to the children of North Tyneside, and further afield. Throughout the year school and youth groups from the North East and beyond come to stay with us for a week, or a weekend, to experience a new environment and learn through adventure.

All our courses are bespoke, and designed in consultation with the visiting group leader to meet the aims and requirements of the group. Here are some examples of courses we offer:

Adventure - our standard adventure courses can include anything from canoeing and caving to ghyll scrambling and even visiting the beach!
Revision - our popular 'Grades Booster Stress Buster' weekends are used by schools in the run up to exams, to enhance learning whilst also enjoying the natural environment.
Curriculum - groups sometimes use our activities to offer a different perspective on curriculum, and base their courses around a particular subject, for example art, ecology, maths.
Fieldwork - led in conjunction with school staff, we offer geography field trips that tie in with the curriculum requirements. Sessions can include settlements, tourism, glaciation, sand dune succession and river systems.

We like to take care of the staff as much as the children, so will do our best to make things easy for you throughout your stay.
