Unaccompanied Walk

What could be more exhilarating than being given your own map and having to find your own way back to the centre without any adults?!

The unaccompanied walk is a perfect activity for your first afternoon at High Borrans, as it gives groups the chance to get to know the local area, and get their bearings for the days ahead. Participants are dropped off in the Kentmere Valley and follow paths and bridleways back to High Borrans, using their maps, their initiative, and a lot of teamwork.

Of course these walks aren't totally unaccompanied. Groups are given hand held radios so they can keep in touch with staff, and we have strategic hidden lookout points so we can keep a subtle eye on them to make sure they are safe.

The sense of achievement when they make it back to the Centre is evident, and they can tuck into their dinner knowing they've earned it.
