Rock Climbing & Abseiling

There's one thing that the Lake District isn't short of. Rock!

Climbing and Abseiling in the National Park

This is an activity mainly done with adult groups or families, because it does involve an element of standing around at the bottom whilst waiting for your fellow adventurers to finish their go. Yet for those who do partake, it's one of the most rewarding activities there is!

There's nothing quite like dangling from a rope admiring the view from half way up a rock wall, and some say that abseiling back down again afterwards is even more fun!

The Abseil Tree

Our newest addition to the grounds at High Borrans is our much loved abseil tree. See if you dare to climb up the rope ladder to the wooden canopy platform, before leaning over the edge and dangling free in the trees as you descend back to the earth. This is a great activity to couple with our night line, which has been set up in the same area of woodlands at the bottom of our sweeping lawn.
