High Borrans is North Tyneside Council's outdoor education centre set amidst some of the Lake District's most spectacular scenery, 3 miles from Windermere. With the Lake District and Yorkshire Dales National Parks on our doorstep we are able to offer a huge variety of activities and outdoor experiences, from canoeing on our own tarn or on the larger lakes to ghyll scrambling and caving.

We have been providing courses for groups since 1967, and can accommodate up to 42 people (with school groups this is 36 students and 6 staff).

We provide a wide range of courses, from adventure activities and corporate team building, to academic fieldwork programmes and hen parties; for all ages from schools and youth groups to adults and friends and family groups.

All courses are tailored to the requirements of the visiting group. Tell us what you would like and we will see what we can do for you!

We are all very impressed by this amazing achievement and have enjoyed keeping up with her progress from [...]

Winter Wonderland at High Borrans

high borransThe White Christmas at High Borrans has turned into a White New Year, as the centre is still looking like a magical winter wonderland. Staff have been walking and skiing into work to make sure the centre is ready for the first of our 2010 groups, and although the snow has slightly disrupted the building work on our new conservatory, we still hope to be able to complete it by the end of January.
